NESTLE GNPS-42

GPS surveying devices

Applications GPS surveying devices

The GNPS-42 system sets the standard for entry-level satellite positioning systems and is suitable for real-time positioning (RTK) for recording and staking out points and geometric shapes for:
  • Planning, monitoring and documentation
  • Volume and area calculation
  • Building surveys
  • GIS aquisition
  • Management documentation
The simultaneous use of 4 satellite systems (GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BEIDOU)  enables measurements to be carried out conveniently. During development, we paid particular attention to users without special knowledge in the area of surveying applications

What is GPS Survey?

  • What is GPS / GNSS?

GNSS stands for Global Navigation Satellite System. GNSS enabels us to determine our current position at any point and at any time on the earth´s surface. The four main satellite positioning systems are:

    • GPS (USA)
    • GLONASS (Russian Federation)
    • GALILEO (European)
    • BEIDOU (China)

These satellites are in our earth orbit and permanently send signals to our earth. With the help of a GNSS receiver these signals can be received and our location can be determined.

  • How accurate is GPS?

The application ares of satellite positioning range from classic location determination on the smartphone to surveying on the construction site. Those who regularly use GPS applications are interested in high accuracy.  Precise positioning is very complex because all elements, for example GPS receiver and satellite, are constantly in motion. The most common sources of error that lead to inaccuracies in the measurement results are:

    • Satellite error
    • Atmospheric errors
    • Signal reflection
    • Receiver error
    • Transformation error
  • What are correction data services?

With the help of a correction data service, accuracies of 1 cm in position and 1.8 cm in height are usually achieved with the GNPS-42 System.

Without correction data, an accuarcy of approximately 1-5 m is achieved

  • How does surveying work with GNSS?

What used to take a long time and employ several people is now possible with a single surveying instrument that can be operated by one person.

The progress of digital construction surveying is a blessing for the industry, as lengthy and costly surveying is now a thing of the past.

Not every area to be surveyed is freely accessible. But thanks to GNSS surveying, this will be child's play for you in the future.

The big advantage: visual contact between two measuring points is no longer necessary, because the exact position is determined by satellites.

  • Digital Building Documentation

The surveying does not stop with terrain surveys and documentation. When it comes to surveying buildings, some people still work with folding rule, tape measure and distance laser. Building Information Modeling, or BIM for short, is much faster and, of course, more accurate, because transmission errors no longer occur. With the help of software, Building Information Modeling allows the planning, execution and management of buildings to be completed in one cycle. Fields of application include architecture, engineering and facility management, building services management and, above all, the construction of the building.

In construction documentation, it is not only important to make the right calculations and measurements, the data must also be transferred accurately. Thanks to software, however, this is not a problem, as all important figures can be sent to a PC, laptop, tablet or mobile phone. So you can easily continue working with your data in the office without paper and pencil.

But it is not always enough to have the calculations on the PC. If you need up-to-date plans directly on the construction site, networking is particularly important. Within seconds, these sensitive data can be imported and exported via cloud.

This is already integrated in the software solutions we offer. This means that construction site and office are always connected.
